SUMMER 2024 RECREATIONAL CLASS SCHEDULE

RECREATIONAL CLASSES
$65 per month ($5 price increase starting in June)
Mommy & Me: Mommy & Me is a sweet class held for Moms and their youngest! This is a 45 minute class in which the instructor leads the parents in helping their child learn and participate in gross motor movements that will aide in learning the fundamental gymnastics skills. It is a great way to facilitate proper physical development in a fun and safe environment; age groups: 1-2.
Fundamentals of Gymnastics (FOG): FOG classes are geared toward elementary-age, beginner gymnasts. Athletes will learn the fundamental skills for gymnastics to promote their physical health and prepare them for more advanced gymnastics or other sports; age groups: Preschool (3-4), 5-7, 7-9.
Mixed Levels: Mixed Level Gymnastics is a class for students 8 and older of varying skill levels. In this class, the coach will adapt different exercises to each gymnast according to their skill level; age groups: 8+.
Intermediate: Intermediate classes are meant for young gymnasts who have previous experience in gymnastics. This class is more challenging than the FOG classes and will provide a safe environment to learn many, more intricate gymnastics skills; age groups: 5-7, 7-9, 10+.
Advanced: Advanced classes are geared towards gymnasts who do not want to compete, but still want to improve upon their gymnastics skills. This class works on higher level skills that are not usually worked on the the FOG or Intermediate classes.
Homeschool (HS): The Homeschool class is a daytime class. It is a replica of the mixed levels class, but allows students age 5+; age groups: 5+.
Pre Team: This is an invitation only, 1.5 hour class that prepares gymnasts for competition in the future; age groups: 5+
Dance Acro: The Dance Acro class is geared towards middle and high school aged dancers who want to learn some tumbling or acro skills to improve or amplify their dance routines/solos; age groups: 11+
Tumbling: Tumbling classes focus on tumbling skills only (no bars, beam, or vault). This class is great for students who enjoy tumbling but not necessarily the other gymnastics apparatus or students who want to improve their tumbling for cheerleading; ages 5+
Please note: There is a $65 registration fee that is taken out upon registration and then yearly in January. This fee covers insurance for your child and equipment maintenance fees to keep your child safe. Your child will also receive an ajoyfulove Gymnastics t-shirt when registering.
COMPETITION TEAM
Our competition team is invitation only or based upon evaluation by a coach. The team is a part of the AAU Gymnastics program and competes XCEL levels.

WHAT TO KNOW FOR CLASS
WHAT TO WEAR: Form fitting athleticwear is great and of course, gymnastics leotards without skirts are appropriate as well. Please avoid baggie or loose fitting clothing as well as any clothing with buttons, zippers, or drawstrings on the outside. These types of clothing can cause safety issues to your child when performing gymnastics skills and can damage gymnastics equipment. If your child has long hair, have it pulled back away from the face with a hair tie (please no claw clips).
WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS: All your child will need is a full water bottle to keep them hydrated during class.
WHAT TO EXPECT UPON ARRIVING: When you get to the building, you can enter through the main door. When you come inside, please have your child take off his/her shoes and place them in of of the cubbies placed on either side of the entrance. Please wait with your child until a coach calls for everyone to line up. You are welcome to stay and observe class or you can drop your child off and return before class ends to pick them up.
